Who is Brittany Travesté?

Brittany Travesté Epps is a self-published writer, poet and cultivator of black girl magic. She credits her mother for nurturing her love for literature. From a young age, Brittany sought to share her most intimate thoughts through written word. Affectionately known as "Ms. Epps" by her students, she is a seasoned English teacher in her hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. Her lessons focus on self-expression through writing as a means of self-care. Brittany earned her B.A. in Journalism from Howard University where she began to flourish as a published writer.

Brittany's book journey has taken her near and far as she shares her story with the world, even vending BLOOM during the 2017 and 2018 Essence Festival weekend in New Orleans. BLOOM can be purchased here at BrittanyTraveste.com as well as the Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites. If you're in the New Orleans area, you can also pick up a copy at the black-owned Community Book Center. Most recently, Brittany has taken the same magic and vulnerability of BLOOM to co-create the #SpreadLoveNOLA Dinner Series.  SpreadLove is a series of events that offer women of color a safe space to openly share their hearts and testimonies with other like-minded women; it's dinner and girl talk with a purpose! Keep up with Brittany by visiting the website frequently and following her social media pages found below.
